报告摘要
Recent advances in genome engineering, artificial intelligence, and synthetic biology are transforming crop improvement. In this presentation, I will describe our efforts to develop a suite of technologies for precise and programmable manipulation of plant genomes. I will highlight the discovery of novel genome-editing systems, and chromosome engineering technologies that enable DNA modifications ranging from single nucleotides to large chromosomal rearrangements. I will also present GRAPE, an in planta directed evolution platform that enables rapid evolution of proteins directly in plants, and SPIR, a platform for the programmable design of synthetic immune receptors capable of recognizing diverse pathogen proteins. Together, these technologies establish an integrated framework that combines genome editing, directed evolution, and AI-driven protein design to accelerate crop improvement and enable a new era of programmable plant biology.

6月5日,中国科学院遗传与发育生物学研究所高彩霞团队在Nature Biotechnology期刊在线发表了题为Multiplexed, precise genome engineering in monocots with twin prime editing systems的研究论文。研究团队开发了精准基因敲除工具TKO(TwinPE-mediated gene KnockOut)以及“多合一”的基因组编辑系统TRIM(TKO editor-enabled gene Rupture and development of Integrated Multitype genome modification systems),为复杂性状的“一站式”精准聚合提供了全新解决方案。
